These are the new videos my sis and i posted on our youtube. Both are basically about our last days in Berlin. I didn’t get to film much about my last few days, but my sis got to film some fun moments we had before leaving.
My sis and i love editing videos of moments and such because we like to go back and have something to watch or see, just to be able to properly picture how it was back then. Though we have tons of pictures and memories, the most epic and awesome times will just remain in our memories since the best moments can never be captured on camera. Miss everything and everyone back in Berlin, love them heaps.
We’ve arrived in Singapore around 6 days ago at around 11 in the evening. It was a very long flight, first stopping over at Abu Dhabi and later flying to Singapore. We’re currently staying at a hotel right now, thus the reason why i have wi-fi connection, which allowed me to post another blog post.
We’ve been a little busy lately since we’ve arrived. We first looked for an apartment here in Singapore. We looked at a total of 4 apartments before deciding to take the apartment which is located on the 21st floor. I’m actually excited to live in that apartment because it’s so modern and also the neighbourhood looks very nice. Later that day we went around the city, going around the big shopping malls at Orchard. One very funny moment we had was when we took around 30 minutes just to cross the road. The reason for that is we can’t just simply cross the road as they have underground passage ways to do so. However, there are also big shopping malls and MRT stations located underground, making us walk everywhere just to look for one exit that would lead us to the other side of the road. Oh well, since then we’ve already memorised how to get around the city since we’ve spent a couple of days just walking around.
The next day we visited the embassy to finally meet everyone. All the embassy staff seemed very nice and are very friendly. They happily welcomed us into the place, which actually made me feel at home and thought that it would be nice to see these people often. They gave us a lot of advices on how everything works here and also gave us more information about Singapore.
So far i’m still adjusting to the place. I still miss my friends back in Berlin and would reminisce on the fun times i’ve had there and how life was like back then. However, Singapore really is a beautiful country. People here are nice and i can find a lot of Filipinos, making it seem like i’m back in my hometown. I hope life ahead will be very fun and interesting, and that i hope a lot of good things will happen to me and my family here.
August 21st, 2012 Chillin’ on the floor because we have no more furnitures. Took this picture after cleaning the whole apartment. Afterwards, we had to permanently say goodbye. Gosh, it’s so sad leaving. We’ve lived there for almost 3 years now so i obviously will miss the apartment and most specially the neighborhood. 4 days left to go!
Taking care of drunk people & having to call guardians to pick them up, dealing with the police, dealing with the parents and the worst is cleaning up all the mess the next morning.
Our chilled farewell get-together turned into a big time party. Oh well, i had a blast still. It was such a mess in the end, but it was still awesome! So happy i got to spend time with everyone before we leave. Less than a week left!
9 more days to go! We’re finally done with packing around 27 boxes by ourselves. However, the final packing and loading day would be on Monday. So till then, we’d still have furnitures around the house.
Gosh, so thankful we managed to finish up packing today! I have time to be out the whole weekend and spend time with friends! Concert and party time, oh yeah! I’m really making the most out of my last few days here in Berlin. Honestly, it is very nerve wracking to think we’re actually going to leave soon and start a new life at another place again. New country, new culture, new school, new friends, new life… I can never get used to saying goodbye.. But oh well, that’s life. I’ll deal with it. But i’m also excited in a way. A lot of people have been mentioning how beautiful and amazing Singapore is. Yes, we’re moving to Singapore. That’s why i mentioned that i’ll have to adapt to the new culture. The culture of Singapore will definitely be very different from Germany’s. A couple of days ago, i researched a lot about what life there would be like. I had a nervous breakdown actually.. Okay i was exaggerating a little, but i was very nervous. I cried without intending to. I guess it’s ‘cause i’m scared of what may happen in the future or maybe it’s ‘cause i don’t really want to leave Berlin just yet. Life here has been awesome! I’d hate to leave my friends behind as well. But as i’ve said earlier, i’ll deal with it. On a brighter note, Singapore is just a couple of hours away from the Philippines! So i’m hoping i can at least visit my hometown next year. Fingers crossed i actually will. Haha.
Yeah i just needed to get everything out of my head before i explode from too much thinking and worrying. Will probably blog a bit more in the future before they cut our Internet. Haha. Will rest now since i’m tired ass from packing.
My sister and i bought a memory box each because we noticed that we have a lot of special items that we would want to keep in a nice box.
This box contains things that my friends have given me and also things that are generally special to me. The small box inside contains this little mug with my name written on it. I received it from Claire on my first Christmas Party in LUCI. The blue bag contains a perfume that i talked a little bit about on my twitter account, so i won’t further elaborate. The little papers underneath on the left are special receipts and tickets, they could be cinema tickets, memorable tickets from different places in the world and also receipts from memorable moments. The little snoopy jewelry box in the middle contains very special necklaces, rings and pendants from the past. The red one on the corner left contains real silver items that i’ve purchased myself or silver items that were given by close friends. The bracelet on top of it is a chinese good luck bracelet for the year of the dog. I bought this on a special random day when i was with my past boyfriend, cousins and sister after going to a karaoke bar at CSI Mall. It would always be in my bag before, thinking it would give me good luck, that’s why i consider it special. There’s a small whistle that’s beside the snoopy jewelry box, which was from my Majorette days in LUCI. Beside it was a key ring from Blue Magic, which i purchased in Baguio City before when my friends, past boyfriend and i decided to sneak and travel there on a random day just to chill. The heart shaped wood with my name engraved on it was given by my sister.
Beside the small box is a cute Valentine’s Day gift. It was given with a teddy bear but obviously the teddy bear’s too big to be put inside the box, so i just kept that heart shape thing there. The IDs under it are my IDs from my old school, in HK, Aussie and in the Philippines. Under that is a small zip bag that contains special letters that my friends gave me before i left the Philippines. It also contains special love letters that i have kept through out the years. The fake Paul Frank pink bag contains some Philippine money that i apparently have saved up before, and it also contains small papers that contains messages from friends. The pink notebook on the right is a special book where my friends wrote messages in before i left the Philippines last 2009. The teddy bear stick was another gift given by Claire. The little red thing on the corner left of the box is actually a number plate from McDonalds that Sarah kind of stole for me because it had the number 5 on it, which is my fave number. The rolled up letter is a simple paper with original lyrics on it, given by my sister on my birthday. On the corner right are some pictures and a green notebook, which i have kept ever since i was 5 years old. It contains some stories i wrote when i was little.
There are way more things that weren’t mentioned here because it’s not seen anyway. But other things that weren’t mentioned are still very special to me. Hopefully this box will be filled with more memories along the years. I like to take a lot pictures for memories, but having these material things to look at and read and feel would add more to the good times i know i’ve had in the past. So thankful for every memories made in the past, but yes i’ll be making new ones soon..
Three of my closest friends and i traveled to Sylt, a beautiful island in Germany. Carolin's grandma has a house there, and so we decided to go there during the summer break. It was my first time to travel somewhere far without any adults, so it was such an experience for me.
On the way there, we missed our train. We had to wait for the next one, which was also delayed. We ended up having to travel for around 8 hours or less. Upon our arrival, we thought we couldn't get inside the house since the door won't open. We had to ring the neighbor and see whether they can help us. Good thing Nina had the strength to push the door open or else we would be stuck waiting in the cold and rainy weather. It was pretty funny since Isaac, who's all big and strong couldn't open it. Haa! Later that day, we decided to head out to the beach and see how gorgeous it is there. Since we barely see any beach in Germany, we went out there at night time, even though it was still drizzling a bit. My biggest mistake there was that i lost the key when i started jumping and screaming for joy! I was in charge of the key since i had a camera bag with me, where we placed the key. We panicked a little, but inside i was dying of shame and guilt. We already experienced a lot that day and suddenly a mishap just had to happen. Like i said, it was dark and rainy, therefore it was hard to find the key. And to our rescue, Isaac fortunately found they key! I just started crying after that. They all comforted me and told me it's fine, except i shouldn't be in charge of the key next time. Haha! Later that night, we had a frog inside our room! Obviously we panicked a little since it's not really in our best interest to sleep knowing there's a frog jumping around. We got rid of it after a long 20-30 minutes i think. But yes, that was the end to our long and hectic first day at Sylt.
Overall, we stayed there for 4 days and 3 nights. On the second day, since the weather was better that day, we decided to swim even though it was 12°C - 15°C! Haha! The best idea ever though, we totally had a blast! On our third and last night, we decided to celebrate and go to a bar. Everything was a lot more pricey at Sylt, but spending all our money on our drinks ended our last night there perfectly.
I honestly enjoyed every single minute of this trip. I needed it since i knew my it would be my last out of the town trip before i leave Berlin. So thankful for having friends like them who can make me laugh and smile nonstop. So thankful that i got to have memories such as this with them.
A little video i edited, which we filmed when we were at Sylt.
